Overview

Transforming Growth Factor Beta-1 (TGF-β1) is a multifunctional cytokine that orchestrates a wide range of cellular activities including proliferation suppression, differentiation, extracellular matrix production, and immune regulation. Its immunomodulatory role extends to downregulating IL-2 mediated T-cell responses and inhibiting NK cell cytotoxicity. This recombinant version, expressed in HEK293 cells, is ideal for in vitro functional studies related to fibrosis, immune tolerance, wound healing, and oncology research.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Potent Biological Activity: Demonstrates robust inhibition of epithelial cell proliferation (ED₅₀ 0.05–0.1 ng/mL).
  • Human-Cell Expression: Produced in HEK293 cells for native folding and post-translational modification.
  • High Purity & Low Endotoxin: Suitable for sensitive assays and immunological models.
  • Validated Reproducibility: Lot-to-lot consistency supported by QC testing.
  • Versatile Application: Applicable to studies in fibrosis, immune suppression, tumor microenvironment, and stem cell biology.

Reconstitution Instructions

To ensure optimal protein quality and functionality, please follow these steps carefully:

  1. Centrifuge the Vial: Briefly spin the vial to collect all lyophilized material at the bottom.
  2. Reconstitute: Add sterile distilled water to achieve a final concentration of not less than 0.1 mg/mL.
  3. Mixing: Gently swirl or tap the vial to fully dissolve the protein. Do not vortex.
  4. Dilution and Application: After complete reconstitution, dilute the solution with appropriate buffers or media as required for your experiment.
  5. Storage:
    • Store reconstituted solution at 2–8°C for up to 1 month, or–20°C for up to 6 months (preferably in working aliquots).
    • Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles to maintain protein stability and bioactivity.

Quality Control (QC)

  • Purity confirmed by SDS-PAGE
  • Endotoxin measured by LAL assay
  • Bioactivity validated in proliferation inhibition assay (mink lung epithelial cells)
