Overview

Bone Morphogenetic Protein 7 (BMP7), also referred to as Osteogenic Protein-1 (OP-1), is a member of the TGF-beta superfamily that plays a key role in bone development and repair. Endogenously expressed in kidney tissue, nervous system structures, and placental trophoblasts, BMP7 contributes to osteogenesis and may influence hormonal regulation in reproductive biology. This recombinant human BMP7 is produced in E. coli, ensuring high purity and bioactivity for reliable performance in in vitro and in vivo research applications.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Osteoinductive Activity: Promotes bone formation and skeletal tissue repair in experimental systems.
  • Versatile Research Use: Applicable in studies of developmental biology, endocrinology, and tissue engineering.
  • High Purity & Low Endotoxin: >95% purity, <1.0 EU/µg endotoxin, suitable for sensitive biological assays.
  • Tag-Free Structure: Preserves native protein sequence for maximum biological relevance.
  • Stable Lyophilized Form: Supports long-term storage and consistent reconstitution.

Reconstitution Instructions

To ensure optimal quality and biological activity:

  1. Centrifuge the Vial: Briefly spin to collect all lyophilized material at the bottom.
  2. Reconstitute: Add 20 mM acetic acid to achieve a final concentration ≥0.1 mg/mL.
  3. Mixing: Gently swirl or tap the vial until dissolved. Do not vortex.
  4. Dilution: Prepare working solutions by diluting into suitable buffers.
  5. Storage: Store reconstituted protein at 2–8°C for ≤1 month, or at –20°C for ≤6 months with carrier protein. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Quality Control (QC)

  • Purity confirmed by SDS-PAGE
  • Endotoxin levels determined via LAL assay
  • Identity verified by sequence analysis and molecular weight determination
