Overview

Growth Hormone 1 (GH1) is a polypeptide hormone that plays a central role in regulating linear growth, skeletal development, and tissue maintenance. While it is best known for stimulating bone, cartilage, and soft tissue growth, GH1 continues to be present in adulthood, supporting metabolic homeostasis and lean body mass preservation.

Many of GH1’s anabolic effects are mediated through induction of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). In addition to its endocrine functions, GH1 is secreted by immune cells—including T cells, B cells, and macrophages—where it can enhance immune responses and modulate its own gene expression within lymphocytes. This recombinant form, expressed in E. coli, provides high purity, reproducible activity, and suitability for in vitro studies in endocrinology, immunology, and cell biology.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Potent Biological Activity: Demonstrates ED₅₀ of ~0.1 ng/mL in rat lymphoma Nb2-11 proliferation assay.
  • High Purity & Low Endotoxin: >95% purity by SDS-PAGE; endotoxin level <1.0 EU/µg, supporting sensitive bioassays.
  • Reproducible Performance: Lot-to-lot consistency verified through functional QC assays.
  • Broad Research Utility: Applicable in studies of growth regulation, metabolic processes, and immune function.
  • Stable Lyophilized Format: Ensures long-term storage and flexible reconstitution options.

Reconstitution Instructions

To maintain maximum protein quality and activity, follow these guidelines:

  • Centrifuge the Vial: Briefly spin to collect all lyophilized material.
  • Reconstitute: Add sterile distilled water to a final concentration of not less than 0.1 mg/mL.
  • Mixing: Swirl gently or tap to dissolve completely; do not vortex.
  • Dilution and Application: Prepare working concentrations in suitable buffers or media as required.
  • Storage: Store reconstituted solution at 2–8°C for up to 1 month, or at –20°C for up to 6 months (in aliquots with carrier protein). Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Quality Control (QC)

  • Purity confirmed by SDS-PAGE (>95%)
  • Endotoxin level measured by LAL assay (<1.0 EU/µg)
  • Bioactivity verified in rat lymphoma Nb2-11 cell proliferation assay
