Overview

Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) is a biologically active polypeptide involved in the regulation of cellular proliferation, differentiation, and survival. EGF exerts its effect through binding to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), initiating intracellular signaling cascades essential for tissue development, wound repair, and oncogenic processes. Produced in E. coli, this recombinant EGF is functionally validated and ideal for in vitro applications.

Key Features and Benefits

  • High Biological Activity: Proven to stimulate HeLa cell proliferation at ED₅₀ < 2 ng/mL
  • Consistent Quality: ≥ 95% purity with low endotoxin levels
  • Reliable Research Use: Suitable for studies in cell growth, signal transduction, and regenerative medicine
  • Batch-to-Batch Consistency: Recombinant production ensures reproducible results
  • Stable Formulation: Long-term lyophilized stability with flexibility for post-reconstitution storage

Reconstitution Instructions

To prepare for use, follow these procedures carefully:

  1. Centrifuge the Vial:
    • Briefly spin to collect the lyophilized content at the bottom.
  2. Reconstitute:
    • Add sterile distilled water to achieve a final concentration of not less than 0.1 mg/mL.
    • Gently swirl or tap to dissolve completely. Do not vortex.
  3. Dilution and Application:
    • Once reconstituted, the solution can be diluted into desired experimental buffers.
  4. Storage:
    • Reconstituted solution is stable at 2–8°C for 1 month, or –20°C for 6 months.
    • Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Quality Control (QC)

  • Purity validated by SDS-PAGE
  • Endotoxin tested by LAL assay
  • Biological activity confirmed through HeLa proliferation assay
